Get to know Archie Afton
Archie Afton is the director of Outback Steakhouse Racing, a successful racing team based in Miami, Florida. He has been with the team since 2004 and has overseen its growth into one of the most respected teams in NASCAR.
A native of Georgia, Archie began his racing career as a driver for local tracks before joining Outback Steakhouse Racing in 2004. Since then, he has served as a director and manager of the team’s operations, overseeing race strategy, crew selection and management, sponsorships and other aspects of running a successful race program. Archie’s leadership has helped the team win multiple championships over the years, including two consecutive Daytona 500 victories in 2005 and 2006.
In addition to his time at Outback Steakhouse Racing, Archie also serves on several boards related to motorsports including the Board of Directors for NASCAR Technical Institute (NTI) where he provides guidance on curriculum development for aspiring race car mechanics. He also serves as an advisor to several race teams across different levels of competition including Sprint Cup Series teams.
Outside of racing, Archie is an active member of his community in Miami where he volunteers his time by organizing fundraisers for various charities such as food banks and homeless shelters. He also takes part in occasional charity drives to raise money for children’s hospitals throughout South Florida. In 2018, he was recognized by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez for his commitment to making a positive difference in the community through volunteerism and service.

His dedication to bettering himself professionally while still remaining dedicated to giving back makes him an exemplary role model both within motorsports circles and beyond.
